Terms of Service
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service set out the contract between you and Artisan Kitchens UK when you instruct us to provide design, manufacture and installation services for a bespoke kitchen in the United Kingdom. Our address and contact details are provided in the footer of this page. By requesting a consultation, accepting a quotation, or instructing us to proceed with work, you agree to these terms. They explain how we prepare proposals, the basis on which we charge, and the practical arrangements for delivery and on-site works. Where a separate written contract or order is issued for large projects, that contract will take precedence where it expressly varies these terms. If you have any queries about these terms, please contact us before you accept a quotation so we can clarify obligations and expectations.
2. Scope of services and contract formation
Our services commonly include initial consultation, measured survey, concept design and visual material, production drawings, workshop manufacture and on-site installation. A contract is formed when you accept our written quotation or we issue a formal order confirmation. Quotations include a description of the works, materials proposed and an estimated timetable. If you instruct revisions that materially change the specification, we will issue an amended quotation and revised schedule. We may rely on third-party suppliers for appliances, stone worktops and specialist components; such suppliers are engaged on our instructions and we will manage their delivery and coordination. Where specialist consent or building control approval is required, you must advise us prior to instruction so we can identify any impact on cost or programme.
3. Pricing, deposits and payment
Quoted prices are stated in pounds sterling and exclude VAT unless otherwise noted. For bespoke projects we require a deposit to secure workshop time and purchase materials; the deposit amount will be detailed in the quotation. Progress payments are staged against manufacture milestones and an agreed proportion on completion prior to final installation. Final payment is due on satisfactory completion and handover. Where clients delay or change the programme there may be additional storage or remobilisation charges. We accept payment by bank transfer or cleared funds; payment details appear on invoices. If an invoice is not settled by the due date we may suspend further works until payment is made and retain title to delivered goods until payment is cleared. We will always discuss and agree reasonable payment schedules for larger projects in writing.
4. Cancellation, variations and refunds
You may cancel or materially vary the order prior to manufacture, subject to reasonable reimbursement for costs already incurred including material purchases and workshop labour. Where bespoke items have been cut, finished or ordered to measure, cancellation may not be possible and refunds may be reduced accordingly. Any variations requested after manufacture begins will be costed and scheduled as change orders; we will not proceed with variations until you have agreed the revised cost and programme in writing. If we must cancel a contract for reasons beyond our control we will refund payments for uncommenced work and unused material purchases. For consumer contracts you retain statutory rights regarding cancellation and refunds; where relevant these will be set out in the project contract and will respect UK consumer protection law.
5. Liability, warranty and aftercare
We manufacture and install to high standards and offer a makers warranty for workmanship and identified components. Warranty terms and durations are stated in each contract; they do not affect your statutory rights. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to direct losses arising from our breach of contract and excludes indirect or consequential loss except where required by law. We recommend agreed snagging and inspection at handover so that minor items can be identified and rectified promptly. Where third-party appliances or stones are supplied, their manufacturer warranties apply; we will assist with any reasonable co-ordination of repairs. Aftercare guidance is provided with each project and we offer paid maintenance services where required to maintain long-term performance. Claims under warranty should be notified in writing to our studio contact details so we can inspect and arrange remedial work where appropriate.
6. Intellectual property and use of images
Designs, drawings and specifications created by Artisan Kitchens UK remain our intellectual property until a project is completed and payment obligations are met, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We grant clients a licence to use the deliverables for the purpose of construction and occupation of the project. We may photograph completed projects for promotional use; we will seek your consent before publishing images that clearly identify a private residence. If you prefer anonymity we will respect that wish and agree acceptable image usage. Any use of our branding or drawings beyond the scope of the contract requires our prior written permission.
7. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Where a dispute arises we will seek to resolve it by discussion and negotiation in the first instance. If a resolution cannot be reached within a reasonable period we agree to consider mediation before commencing court proceedings. For consumer contracts you may have additional statutory rights and access to alternative dispute resolution schemes; we will provide information on those processes on request. Any legal proceedings shall be brought in the courts of England and Wales unless the parties expressly agree otherwise.
